Solution for Generational Poverty: Inbound Marketing (Social Entrepreneurship)

Solution for Generational Poverty: Inbound Marketing (Social Entrepreneurship)

The Welfare State continues to grow in volume not only due to the legacy of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society (War On Poverty) but, ironically thanks to the Internet and advances in software technology.  Yes, sounds contradictory but, there are unintended consequences for great technological advances that benefited and continue to improve the lives of millions of Americans.  If, you look at the poorest sectors of American society the War On Poverty ironically, contributed to the breakup of many families but, especially among those within the African American community.  Imagine, the basic economic unit of all communities (families) suffered the greatest harm due to government intervention that was designed to theoretically fix the very problem that impaired millions of families from upward economic mobility.

Now, the removal of father from the family home was designed to break-up the family and keep “certain people” under the control of state welfare agencies, police and department of corrections.  Indeed, money or more accurately, welfare benefits were used to incentivize women to dispose of the father of their children and replace him with the new husband called the State.  Not exactly, what one would call Traditional Family Values but, more accurately, ethnic genocide.  Historically, the practice is quite common as indicated by countless examples of familial destruction executed against people of color (Aborigines of Australia, Maori’s of New Zealand, Indigenous people of North America (Canada & America), Inuit’s and African Americans).  What better approach to defeat a perceived threat than by attacking the thing most important to him and that’s his family.  Government knows this and will act.

Just read the Moynihan Report and it reveals generational systemic oppression inflicted upon people of primarily African descent and collateral social problems (familial, financial, legal, emotional, educational and psychological) that still disproportionately affect the current and future generation (i.e.,72% illegitimacy rate) unless, significant intervention is implemented.  Clearly, government intervention has proven to be ineffective because government in truth, profits from problems and not solutions.

So, the Rich get Richer, Poor Get Prison and the cycle continues to explode exponentially thanks to a digitized economy that has enabled corporations to transfer jobs overseas, generate profits that exceed the GDP of many small countries, while influencing or more accurately, controlling government officials who are responsible for regulatory laws that govern the same industries they receive political donations from, while supposedly protecting the public.  Needless to say, corporations control the politicians, while the poor are controlled or more accurately, dependent on the government who are not motivated to reduce the generational Poverty Mindset that permeates todays families of the generational poor.  Yes, this is true; otherwise, government workers would be out of a job because there would be no problem.

So, what’s the SOLUTION to the problem of the Generational Poor? How do you change or begin the process of reducing/eliminating a poverty mentality of an entire generation and prevent its spread?   Since, the Internet and related innovations in software technology have yielded benefits for corporations and other who have increased their knowledge in information technology then, I recommend the poor do the same with a personal development slant.  Let’s focus on marketing especially, Inbound Marketing.  You got it right, my solution to poverty lies in the concept of marketing.

Now, Inbound Marketing provides multiple components (entrepreneurship, marketing and self -development) that will enhance the ability of the generational poor to improve their quality of life.  Now, let’s remember that “Inbound Marketing refers to activities (blogs, podcasts, eBooks, SEO, physical products, newsletters, whitepapers, social medial marketing and other forms of content marketing) that bring visitors in, rather than marketers having to go out to get prospects' attention”.  “Inbound marketing earns the attention of customers”.  I agree, doesn’t sound convincing with reference to solving a significant social problem like poverty; however, becoming an Inbound Marketing Specialist requires the individual to begin the process of self-development by working on themselves.  Yes, changing the way they think about themselves.

The late business philosopher Jim Rohn, famously said, “you get paid for the value you bring to the marketplace and not the time you spend in it”.  In other words, “make yourself more valuable to the marketplace” and you do that by working harder on yourself than you do working on the job”.  “This is why personal development plays a vital role in your success as indicated by the fact, it is a lifelong process. It's a way for people to assess their skills and qualities, consider their aims in life and set goals in order to realize and maximize their potential”.  In life you are on a timeline to accomplish certain goals and tasks; otherwise, you are guilty of a wasted life. Clearly, nothing to be proud of nor brag about.  So, do you see the potential benefit of incorporating inbound marketing as a solution to reducing poverty.  Yes, I am marginally advocating CSR or better known as Corporate Social Responsibility, where business enters into a partnership to assist in the reduction or hopefully, resolution of a social problem while, generating a profit.  In essence, it’s about reframing a social problem (Generational Poverty) into a business opportunity to create a WIN-WIN for all participants involved.  Many people are no longer referring to Corporate Social Responsibility and more receptive to the term Social Entrepreneurship.  So, what is Social Entrepreneurship?  Well, I will address the term in my next blog.  For now, Cheers!

The changing Internet

The Changing Internet

The changing Internet

I am at present in the middle of break in my Internet Marketing, the first in some 15 years and plan to return later in the year. I have been keeping a watching brief on the development of MarketHive which has been under way for more than two years.

I am impressed with the progress and the attention to detail in the design which makes it easy to use and understand. Tom Prendergast and his small team are creating a system which will become the envy of the world. Many are asking when the system will be launched, well it is available now but there are still parts of the system which need refining due to the ever changing nature of marketing on the Internet.

One area I am happy with is the intuitive way the system has been designed and seamlessly integrates together to the benefit of users. This became apparent to me when I attended a couple of workshops last week about adding a third party plug-in to WordPress in order to post to social media sites. A number of users had difficulty understanding, the instructions for setting up the plug in due to the poor non user friendly design. Needless to say the essential workshop provided by Tom worked through most of the problem area.

One thing I have learnt is that if you stop using the Internet, when you return, its not the same, companies make so called improvement, one of my hosting companies changed it C-panel set up and I keep getting stymied when trying to update information, and they this progress.

Understanding Educational Technology

Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but the trend of learners educating themselves is on a continuous upward movement. The reasons may include freedom to choose, no fear of questions being asked, learning at one's own pace and place, absorbing at one's own capacity and much more. The self-learning trend has been empowered by cutting edge educational technology innovation. social learning and education in technology

what is social learning

Educational technology has started facilitating learning from the time of Abacus to the current generation e-learning / m-learning. It has gone through multiple changes while adjusting itself to the current generation's demand.

Helping people learn in ways that are easier, faster, surer, or less expensive can be traced back to the emergence of very early tools, such as abacus. The human race has been continuously challenged to educate its next generation in a more effective manner for equipping them to face future challenges. This pursuit of constant upgradations for better learning received a big push with the introduction of computers. In the very early days of computers in education, the University of Illinois initiated a classroom system based in linked computer terminals where students could access informational resources on a particular course while listening to the lectures that were recorded via some form of remotely linked device like a television or audio device, in the year 1960. There was no looking back since then. All kind of experiments started in world renowned universities like Stanford and Harvard for computer assisted teaching. In the mean time in 1971, an influential Austrian philosopher named Ivan Illich published a hugely influential book called, ' Deschooling Society ', in which he envisioned "learning webs" as a model for people to network the learning they needed. Ivan envisioned the power of networked learning way ahead of his time but everyone realizes the power of social / network learning, now.

The invention of World Wide Web in 1990 was the next big thing after computers. After this invention, learning changed radically. Anyone could create text based websites / portals with loads of information / learning material which anyone from any part of the world could read, digest and use. This democratizes the access to any information / learning and its usage. Improved Internet functionality enabled new schemes of communication with multimedia or webcams. Multimedia powered by the internet is slowly proliferating every aspect of learning and quietly disrupting this space. Multimedia content is more fun, more engaging and better to assimilate that text-based content. The other most important aspect is the method of learning which is asynchronous in nature. Asynchronous learning uses technologies such as email, blogs, wikis, and discussion boards, as well as web-supported textbooks, audio-video courses, and social networking using web 2.0 (Web 2.0 describes websites that emphasize user-generated content, usability, and interoperability). Everyone can now realize the impact of all of the above-mentioned technologies in their learning process.

The impact of the mass / social media is the result of a long adaptation process of their communicative resources to the evolutionary changes of each historical moment. Thus, the new media became an extension of the traditional media on the cyberspace, allowing to the public access information in a wide range of digital devices. In other words, it is a cultural virtualization of human reality as a result of the migration from physical to virtual space (mediated by the ICTs), ruled by codes, signs, and particular social relationships, inside and outside the classroom. Forwards, arise instant ways of synchronous and asynchronous communication, interaction and possible quick access to information, in which we are no longer mere senders, but also producers, reproducers, co-workers, and providers. New technologies also help to “connect” people from different cultures outside the virtual space, which was unthinkable fifty years ago. In this giant relationships web, we mutually absorb each other’s beliefs, customs, education, values, laws and habits, cultural legacies perpetuated by a physical-virtual dynamics in constant metamorphosis.

The impact of social media on everyone's learning is undeniable. The National School Boards Association found that 96% of students with online access have used social networking technologies, and more than 50% talk online about schoolwork. Social networking encourages collaboration and engagement and can be a motivational tool for self-efficacy amongst students. Every student has his or her own learning requirements, and a Web 2.0 educational framework can provide enough resources, learning styles, communication tools, and flexibility to accommodate this diversity.

A highly interesting possibility emerges out from all of the above. A combination of Ivan's vision of "learning webs" as a model for people to network the learning they needed, with the need of a Web 2.0 educational framework based on social network and real-time multimedia technologies. Can this combination be a disruptive learning model for the future? Only Time can answer this question.

Your Mindset Development Guarantees Both Success and Failure

Your Mindset Development Guarantees Both Success & Failure positive mindset and personal development

"Being an entrepreneur is a Mindset….you have to things as opportunities all the time….Soledad O'Brien

Alright, which one are you going to choose success or failure?  No doubt you desire to generate consistent, predictable and long-term residual income from your home business opportunity or any business you joinedbut the biggest obstacle to achieving success has ironically been yourself.  Okay, get the hell out of your own way, but how do you that?  Well, let’s start at the beginning to make things simple because the simple plans are usually the ones that work the best for all people.  Firstly, do you honestly believe you can succeed online?  If not then, let’s begin with the old grey matter and work our way down.  Yes, success begins six inches between the ears.

Do you realize that your pattern of thinking or Mindset will determine whether you generate profit or require a George Herbert Walker Bush rescue plan because your pattern of thought was self-destructive and lead to your arrival in the MLM Cemetery?  Hence, success or failure is a completely an internal process that begins with your mindset and then, executed through consistent action.  If, you are unable to formulate in your mind the belief you can succeed and sustain it during times of adversity then, you will succumb to the negative influences of the millions who surrender their dreams of being successful and remain content living as mediocre people.  “Humans are designed to seek comfort and order, and so if they have comfort and order, they tend to plant themselves, even if their comfort is not all that comfortable, even if they see clearly want for something better.” â€• Donald Miller

Jeffrey Combs, President of Golden mastermind Semianrs.com once said, “mediocre people live in their comfort zone, but their comfort zone is their failure zone”.  So, are you afraid to step outside the norm and remain with the millions of people who do the J.O.B for life and die dead broke?  How about living a life, which is cautious, redundant and non-stimulating, which is an example of non-growth and more importantly, an example of failure.  Is that you and if so, why are satisfied with that kind of life.  Success requires growth and the ability to break through barriers and not remain stagnant, which is another form of failure.  Hence, to succeed one’s mindset must grow beyond what it believes are its limits.  The search engine Google is an example of an entity that is always growing and adjusts so as to not become stagnant; otherwise, it will become irrelevant.  Last I checked nobody wants to be known as being irrelevant; otherwise, you acknowledge you serve no useful purpose to others or to yourself.

Are you ready to go beyond your limit and seek the title of not 1st Place, 2nd Place nor 3rd Place, but most improved? Unfortunately, most will choose the life of mediocrity because it's safe and familiar; however, today's digital world with constantly changing technology will severely punish those who fall behind or refuse to adapt.  Well, the economy will actually meet out the discipline and reward those who bring value to the market.  The question remains is your mindset capable of adjusting to the challenges within a global economy that sees people as expendable and corporations as essential to societal, political and economic growth.  If yes, then, I invite you attend our next live workshop and learn how you can achieve online success with our global online community.

Remember the Hammer from Veretekk?

Unfair Advantage has returned.

Remember The Hammer?

Shortly after shutting Veretekk down I embarked on building a new platform from scratch, all new code, fresh, from the start using modern operating systems, this vision is called Markethive. It is a true social network, easily navigated and works similar to Facebook, which means it is extremely intuitive and a quick learn to use.

Markethive is a vertical social network for entrepreneurs, a culture that represents innovation, vision and determination and driven to achieve greater than one’s own boundaries. An engine that roars with the blood, sweat and tears of the individual that seeks beyond their capabilities. We now live in a time that the entrepreneur has become all of us as the traditional culture of jobs fades away into today’s realities.

But Markethive has another engine as well. If you were a member way back in the 90s you remember us ”inventing” Automated Marketing, Veremail (autoresponder emails), Traffic Portals (Blastomatic, Sohomatic, Maoney_Machine, Vereconference), Broadcasting platforms (The Hammer), Tracking (Veretracking) all of this and more all integrated, 20 years ago! Remember the massive unique leads you would get coming to you, not you chasing them?

Today it has been rebranded as Inbound Marketing. Inbound Marketing is attracting traffic, converting to subscribers, then converting to customers, that converting to advocates. Other companies sell a similar service for up to and more than $10,000 per month. I am not kidding. These platforms are valuable, expensive to build and flat out work!

Markethive has fused the Entrepreneur Social Network together with our own Inbound Marketing platform. The results are outstanding

The Hammer evolved into a master piece that published a message, Title and link to literally billions of FFA sites, Classified Ad sites, Guest books, and forums. It was abusive, rude, did not ask, it broke down the walls and placed it’s message, millions of messages on billions of sites. It was an amazing piece of work. It produced massive inbound traffic and leads. People literally became addicted to it. It combined an entertaining eye candy process and a huge massive result. It got oooos and ahhhhs. I became famous for The Hammer. I even have a video of one of the later versions of the Hammer. It is nostalgia in it’s purest form. Enjoy.

I have replaced the Hammer!

In fact I have eclipsed the Hammer with a new Social Networked Broadcasting tool called the Blog Caster (Broadcaster). It integrates into the hundreds of Social Networks owned by 1000s and growing into millions of Markethive subscribers accounts. It operates on a viral process of subscribers, to your posts and their subsequent reach, giving you a downstream result that can easily eclipse reaches of readers into the billions. But not static, but people who react to your messages and the traffic influx becomes massive.

And the message? It originates from your Markethive blog. So your message(s) are comprehensive and often will find themselves being shared by people you never knew. Your Markethive blog is subscribed to by your 1000s of friends and their 1000s of friends, 1000s also share your blog content, with your permission, to their many WordPress and other blogs.

Markethive WordPress plugins turn WordPress into a massive broadcasting platform, exponentially increasing even further reaches. This chain reaction has no limit.

Markethive is just getting started. If Veretekk impressed you once upon a time long ago, Markethive will blow you away. And we are just getting started.

Unlike Veretekk, Markethive’s technology Inbound Marketing platform, the whole enchilada, is Free!

We fund Markethive with advertising and the best part about that? We share up to 50% of that revenue with you.

I told you I would return, come join me as we head of into the future 10 years ahead of the rest. Now Unfair Advantage is available to you, again, for Free.

For more about the new Broadcasting technology make sure to read Blog Casting and the Reach

Don't just take my word for it, see his video blow that talks about reaching massive people by blogging. This is just one component of his new business network and how it can impact any bloggers reach in a massive way.

Value and Respect Your Brand: Ask Donald Sterling

Value & Respect Your Brand: Ask Donald Sterling

Race or more accurately, racism was a primary issue in the Donald Sterling and L.A. Clipper controversy; however, the most important business component at risk was both the NBA and L.A.  Clipper Brand.  Now, a brand is commonly perceived as a product, service or concept manifested in the form of a visual logo that represents a specific company.  Okay, a nice safe and tidy corporate definition; however, successful brands are intangible and represent emotions, qualities and stories that motivate consumers to join in partnership with a specific company that gives value to its consumers.  A brand that attract its customers by providing value and develops a trusting relationship then, the logo not only represents the company but, the corporate culture (ideals, ideologies & values) that is portrayed in media for the benefit of further expanding the brand to a larger consumer base.  “The NBA has been the poster child for diversity in American sports from the coaches on the sidelines, to the executive’s they hire and obviously to the players on the court”.  Now, 81% of the NBA players are people of color, ¾ of the NBA players are African-American and 27% of NBA coaches are African-American”.  Needless to say, NBA’s brand is about inclusion of all people and strives for parity in all levels of employment.

So, what happens when a well-known brand is compromised because of an act of self-destructive conduct within corporate management?  When large sums of revenue are at risk then, immediate emergency measures are implemented to save the cash and more importantly, salvage the reputation of the organization that was perceived to have committed an offense against its customer base.  Donald Sterling, former owner of the LA. Clippers knows all about committing corporate suicide due to a documented long-term history of racial bigotry against African Americans.  Unfortunately, Mr. Sterling failed to consider the economic and social impact his words would have on his employees, basketball fans and corporate sponsors who invested significant sums of money into the Clipper organization.  Let’s look at who invested and who threatened to bail if, Mr. Sterling wasn’t removed from the Clipper organization in real time.

Well, sponsors like Car Max, State Farm, Virgin America, Chumash Casino Resort, Lumber Liquidators, Yokohoma Tire Corporations, Corona, Constellation Brands, Kia Motors, Adidas, Mercedes-Benz, Red Bull, Burger King, Samsung and MGM Resorts and End Ties, all threatened to end ties, with both the Clippers and the NBA.  Clearly, they didn’t want to be associated with any entity that appeared to support racial bigotry.  With millennials and older adults being primary consumers of goods and services in both social media and professional sports it would be complete lunacy for sponsors to ostracize such a critical revenue stream.

Business is about relationship building and like anything of value takes considerable time and effort to develop; however, it only takes seconds or minutes to DESTROY.  Developing a trusting relationship with customers is the foundation of business's ability to achieve long-term success.  Now, if you consider Donald Sterling's 30-year plus ownership of the Clippers was essentially destroyed in under 9-minutes of secret audiotape (recorded by his mistress) and with the potential of collateral damage to his other businesses.  Additionally, future business opportunities were potentially compromised; hence, the true cost of this act of entrepreneurial-suicide remains unknown to the general public.

So, it remains clear that one's words have consequences and this is true in all aspects of life but, even more, when you’re the owner of a NBA franchise worth 1 billion dollars and the majority of your players were African-American. It is clear Mr. Sterling didn't respect certain people of different races/ethnicity but, why didn't he respect his brand?  Why risk it all?

Well, let's first review a definition to ensure everyone is on the same page, “Brand is the "name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller's product distinct from those of other sellers."  Alright, that's clear so both NBA & L.A., Clippers are brands that represent the best in professional basketball, which appeals to millions of people who are willing to pay to be associated with such organizations because they provide value/service to their target market.

Unfortunately, Mr. Sterling FAILED to recognize the importance of valuing his target market and the formula for success that generated millions of dollars for his organization.  He took things for granted.  When you have success and you become reckless then, you become a liability to your company and those who rely on its production of products and services to the established consumer abuse.

Now, fortunately for both the NBA and LA Clipper organization, they never lost sight of the most important element of the Formula of Success and that is the fans.  Without the fans then, you have no business and keeping them interested in the basketball brand was paramount to everyone's success.

Like in both online and offline businesses the formula for success entails a system designed to produce new customers and create an income multiplier rather than just one-time customers but, a lifetime customer.  This is desired in all businesses; hence, to achieve this goal begins with respecting your BRAND.

Fourteenpress Theme as looks matter

Fourteenpress Theme as looks matter

It was recommended to me to use Fourteenpress Theme by Noor as it is mobile viewing friendly for wordpress blogs.  I compared it to the Twenty Ten theme I have been using and concur.

It has been said a picture is worth a thousand words, I am going to show how my blog posts look on my mobile phone.  I will use a blog post I wrote yesterday for my example.

http://alzibluk.com/2016/05/02/crockpot-black-beans-and-brown-rice/

The first picture is my website at http://alzibluk.com.  I wrote the first blog post.  The last two blog posts were written by other people that I don’t even know.  I use Markethive to constantly give my websites content.  I am a big fan of utilizing groups in Markethive for this purpose.

The second picture is my blog post.  I like how the title and picture looks.

The third picture is text from my post.  It is very easy to read on my phone.  We live in a world that is constantly on the go.

My last picture is to show the Pinterest widget.  I do want people to follow me on Pinterest.

Thanks for reading and I give the Fourteenpress Theme two thumbs up.

All the best,

Crockpot Black Beans and Brown Rice

Crockpot Black Beans and Brown Rice

My Favorite Crockpot Recipe So Far

This is the first blogpost in the Markethive Group called Crockpot Recipes. I encourage anyone reading this to join and share their crockpot recipes. It will be featured on different websites. I also plan in the future to make a Pinterest board for crockpot recipes to pin the ones I like.

The recipe I am sharing I got from mostly homemade mom. Below is her link. The recipe is perfect. I was impressed how easy and delicious it came out. I am not a fan of sour cream so I did not use it.

http://www.mostlyhomemademom.com/2014/01/crockpot-black-beans-rice.html

Although the recipe is wonderful, I can’t help myself but always add more things to it. It is fun to experiment. Below are the ingredients I used.

  • 2 (14 oz) packages of black beans, drained and rinsed. (I use Fig Foods Black Beans)
  • 1 uncooked cup of brown rice (I use Texmati Brown Rice)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup salsa (I used Frontera Hot Roasted Habanero Salsa)
  • 2 tsp cumin (I bought Cumin Seeds from Amazon)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt (I use Himalayan Pink Salt)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 diced onion (my idea)
  • 5 minced gloves of garlic (my idea)
  • 1 avocado (my idea)
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (my idea)
  • A handful of mushrooms cut into smaller pieces (my idea)

I greased my crockpot with coconut oil and threw all the contents in it. Below is my picture of it before I turned on the power.

Following the original recipe I put my crockpot in the low setting. The original recipe called for 3 hours cooking time, the picture below was 4 hours 30 minutes later. I waited for the liquid to soak up.

This was the third time I have made this. It is great by itself. You can use it for dipping tortilla chips or making burritos. This time I am using it for soft shell tacos.

I like using Maria and Ricardo’s Soft Corn Tortillas. They taste great and do not fall part like other soft shell tacos. I have experimented with others but keep coming back to them.

All the best,
